What if I am having technical issues?

You may occasionally run into technical issues, such as errors when attempting to retrieve a chat or receiving an answer to a prompt. Generally speaking, these will resolve themselves within a relatively short time. However, if you're having trouble, and the issue persists for more than a couple of hours, first try the following:

  1. Clear your browsing data, cookies, and cached images and files.

  2. Check for any available browser, app, and or operating system updates.

  3. Disable any browser extensions (including VPNs).

  4. Restart the browser or mobile app.

  5. Log out and log back into your You.com account.

How do I report a bug or make a feature request?

Bug reports

If you are experiencing a bug and have already walked through the general troubleshooting steps we have outlined here, please reach out to us using the form at the top of this page.

You can also leave a report in Canny here or in the Bugs channel of our Discord.

In your bug report, please make sure to include the following information:

  • Email address of You.com account (if different from the email sender)
  • Web browser, device, app, and operating system type and versions
  • Any relevant chat transcript URLs
    • Click on the three dots next to the chat in the sidebar menu of your You.com account

    • Select Share

    • Click ‘Copy link’

  • Description of the issue (be as detailed as possible, include steps to recreate if known)
  • Screenshots and or screen recordings
