Sharing Projects

Learn how to seamlessly share Projects with others and control who can view and contribute to them.

What are Projects?

Projects help you organize your conversations on You.com. They function as folders where you can group related chats together for better organization.

How to Share a Project

To share a Project, follow these steps:
  1. Select Projects from the left-hand menu.
  2. Click on the three-dot menu in the top right of the Project you want to share.
  3. Select "Share project".
  4. Configure the access settings (Note: check out the section below for more details)
  5. Select Copy link.

Configuring share access

By default projects are just visible to you:

If you are part of an organization, your can share your project:
  • "Can view" makes your project discoverable by coworkers in your organization (will show as shared with them on their Projects page), and they can see the chat threads added to the project
  • "Can contribute", in addition to making your project discoverable, lets your coworkers add their own chat threads to the project
    • Important note: unlike sharing a chat thread by link (which is a snapshot in time), chat threads shared in projects will stay up to date as you and your coworkers continue to interact with their AI modes, agents, and models

  • "Custom" is an option if your organization has multiple teams; selecting "Custom" allows you to set different access options for each team in your organization

Finally, 'Anyone with the link' gives you the ability to share access to your project with anyone on the web.
  • Note: Some organization administrators may disable access to this option. If you are an Enterprise admin and you'd like to learn more about Enterprise Sharing Controls for Projects, click here.
