Our redesigned interface introduces Auto Mode and Express Mode, two powerful options designed to optimize the way you interact with You.com's AI. These modes are built to match the speed and depth of the answers you need, providing flexibility and efficiency for a wide range of queries. With these modes, You.com enhances your search experience, whether you're tackling complex research or simply looking for quick facts. Both options empower you to find the right balance between speed and depth in your AI-powered searches.
Auto Mode
- Functionality: Auto mode, which is available for Pro and Team plan users, instantly selects the perfect AI for your query without requiring manual switching. All the powerful Research, Compute, and Create agents you love remain available but are now smarter, faster, and more accessible than ever, as Auto mode analyzes your request in real-time and deploys exactly the right tool for your needs.
- User Experience: This thoughtful redesign eliminates the hesitation of choosing which agent to use, reduces friction between you and the insights you seek, and creates more intuitive interactions.
- Example Query: "What are the key differences between quantum mechanics and classical mechanics?" (This query benefits from in-depth analysis and context.)
Express Mode
- Functionality: Express Mode is focused on speed and efficiency. This mode is available for all users, and aims to deliver quick results with minimal processing time. This mode may prioritize the most relevant information without extensive research or computation.
- User Experience: This mode is ideal for users who are looking for rapid answers or need to find information quickly.

How to switch modes
When you are signed in as a Pro or Team user, you will be in Auto mode by default, which means we will select the perfect model for you based on your query.
Whether you need a quick and simple answer or more advanced research and computation, we will automatically pick the correct model for the job.
For fast, reliable results for everyday tasks, you can also switch to Express mode by selecting the AI mode button at the bottom left of the query bar and choosing it from the AI mode menu.
Both modes enhance the user experience on You.com, allowing you to choose based on your needs at any given moment!
